SURROGACY COMPENSATION

START THE QUIZ NOW!

How much does a surrogate make and how do the payments work?

Surrogate compensation is between $65,000-$90,000, this is a wide range, and it is based on several factors (here are a few):

  • Locations, some states are more friendly than others.
  • Your insurance situation. Does your insurance cover a surrogate pregnancy, or will a policy need to (be) purchased for you.
  • Are you a first time surrogate or have you successfully completed a journey (be)fore?

Payments are typically made at (be)nchmarks throughout the process, such as completing the screening process or (be)ginning medications for the first time. Other payments are received on a regular monthly schedule during surrogacy pregnancy, which will be fully outlined in the legal contract. These payments are typically paid by check or direct deposit from the escrow company. Here are some additional items that will be paid:

  • Mileage to and from your doctor’s appointments.
  • Child care during the pregnancy.
  • Housekeeping help during the pregnancy.
  • Postage or notary fees for the legal contracts.
  • Small insurance co-pays.
  • Prenatal vitamins and other health supplies.
  • Other miscellaneous pregnancy expenses.

What are some possible additional stipends that are separate from my base pay?

  • $1,000 Maternity clothing allowance
  • $10,000 additional for twin pregnancy ($15,000 in the rare event of a triplet pregnancy)
  • $1,000+ for each embryo transfer
  • $5,000 – $8,000 for a C-section if medically necessary
  • $500+ Mock cycle if medically necessary
  • $250+ Monthly allowance during the pregnancy
